Policy Principles Paper outlines the policy principals that the DRWF seeks to support via modeling the work of its own investments, partner employers, postsecondary educational organizations and other entities connecting individuals to careers. The Detroit Jobs Alliance engages and organizes a wide-ranging network of community stakeholders around the issues of jobs and workforce, including supporting the policies needed to facilitate more widely-shared opportunities for Detroit and metro Detroiters. For more information click here.

The Detroit Green Story was written as a result of DRWF’s recognition of a need to outline a roadmap of opportunities to support job creation, innovation and the success of sustainable green industries in the Detroit area. This story details successes of emerging “green jobs” industries and the faces of individuals being trained and employed in these industries. It highlights DRWF-resourced and non-DRWF-resourced activities, lifts up local stakeholders investing in these green sectors and describes policy opportunities that if taken, can help keep the momentum going. The Detroit Talent Hub is designed to bridge the gap between the supply of local trained workers and the employer demand for skilled workers in the emerging green economy sector in Detroit and metro Detroit. It mobilizes a qualified labor pool to place in full-time living wage jobs or as temp-to-permanent contractors state in weatherization, environmental remediation, energy efficiency, retrofitting, green construction/rehab and energy auditing positions.
